Politically Incorrect Substitute

So, what's this?

Substitute teachers see their school(s), and their school system as a whole, in a very different light. Unlike regular teachers, or even floating "special" teachers, subs are often in a different building every day, sometimes even across districts, and can see the differences in stark, often painful, contrasts that other teachers might rarely get to see - it’s our daily experience. They see the ways that students, teachers, principals, schools, and whole districts work - and don't work. A substitute teacher with experience and knowledge in behavior modification and classroom management can even detect the methods the regular classroom teacher has been using based only on the students.
Subs come from a wide variety of backgrounds, often not specifically teaching. My own background includes physics, (teaching) martial arts, homeschooling, and psychology (with a focus on education), and from this background I've been hopping from school from school...
Here, I'm collecting my observations, comments, rants, and praises about the places I’ve taught - hopefully one or two things might be helpful to someone, someday... me at least!
